Cute and easy DIY springtime centrepiece

Springtime DIY centrepiece

Springtime means it’s time for me to bring flowers back into my home. I love fresh-cut blooms brightening the place up.

As much as I love having flowers around the house I’m terrible at keeping up with them. So much so I’m wondering if there are better ways to bring colour into my homeā€¦and upcycle at the same time.

I had a bunch of burnt-out light bulbs, waiting for recycling, and I thought they’d make great flowers. I spray painted them, knit up a few cute little leaves, added garnish (tissue paper) and voila. A really cute (and easy!) DIY springtime centrepiece.

Here is what you need

This is what I used for this project but any similar-type objects will do the trick. I used objects I found in my home.

  • Burnt-out light bulbs
  • Spray paint
  • Felt
  • Tissue paper
  • Yarn
  • Knitting needles
  • Scissors
  • Bowl

Here is what you do

Again, make it your own. Here is what I did.

  • Spray paint light bulbs and leave to dry overnight
  • Prep bowl with leaf-like foliage such as tissue paper, knitted leafs, and felt cutouts
  • Arrange light bulbs in bowl till satisfied

Easy, simple, and fun! And I think this will last longer than a bouquet of springtime flowers.
