Make room for Christmas
Make room for Christmas this year, the planet and your pocketbook will thank you!
Make room in your home
Clear out items you don’t use any more before you are inundated with more stuff. Get the whole family involved and make it an annual challenge. If it hasn’t been used for over six months, it’s time to let it go. Sell it, recycle it, repurpose it or donate it, but don’t leave it lying around collecting dust (and please don’t leave it on the sidewalk).
Make room in your pocket
Those items you need to get rid of now you have decluttered, sell them on your local Used.ca site. Save money by buying new-to-you gifts, like our blogger Pam who saved over $600 buying gently used. Make your own decor; take a look at our instructional blog posts: Eco-friendly upcycled Christmas decor and You can never have too many upcycled Christmas crafts for some easy ideas.
Make room in your heart
Christmas can be a particularly hard time for those who have very little. If you have it in you to give, consider donating to a local charity. You can do this through our own #UsedHelps program, selling items on our sites and donating the proceeds directly to the charity of your choice via electronic payment. Donations of time, warm clothes, toys and food also bring cheer to many this season.
