“The Makehouse Clothing Swap” Announces More Dates, Including the First Ever Men’s Swap

The clothing swaps have generated calls for more events and organizers are expanding the reach of the swaps by inviting men to a clothing swap in Victoria.

VICTORIA, B.C. – January 15, 2014

UsedVictoria.com today announced that two more “Clothing Swap”’ dates have been confirmed at local business The Makehouse – and more are being planned to accommodate the huge demand.

The next two swaps are being hosted at The Makehouse at 833 1/2 Fort Street in Victoria.

On Friday, January 17, 2014 local ladies are invited to drop off and search for outfits…and on January 24, 2014 The Makehouse will host their first “Gents Clothing Swap.”

The hours for both of these Friday night swaps are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Makehouse has surpassed capacity at previous swaps, so in order to guarantee a place attendees must drop off clothing in advance so organizers can record names of participants and garments. Once there are 50 people inside it will become a one-in, one-out, rotation.

Drop off days are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Makehouse. Please be sure to add size tags to garments. No underwear or super scruffy items will be accepted.

“We are proud to be sponsoring these swaps because they bring residents together at no cost to participants, so it’s win-win for those looking to clear some closet space while updating their look,” said Carly Russell-Huntley, UsedVictoria.com Community Coordinator. “We’re also very excited about the men’s clothing swap which is getting a lot of attention because these events have only been for the ladies in the past.”

The swaps have received so much attention that The Makehouse and UsedVictoria.com are considering adding future swaps. Details will be announced when the next date is confirmed.
